Thanks to your emails, Facebook messages and reviews in the App Store, we have a pretty clear view of what you want from our app, and which functions are asked for most often. That’s why over the last month we’ve been concentrating our hardest on one thing: an update of maps and searches.
Until now, it’s only been possible to search for exact street names and addresses in our city travel guides – but in country and region guides, the quantity of data has made this impossible, until now. Starting now, all travel guides include street search! Yay!
In addition, there was another suggestion we got quite often: a POI search on the map would make your lives a whole lot easier when you’re traveling: so we polished up our database and made it possible. No matter if it’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral or the Empire State Building – just enter the restaurant, point of interest or whatever you’re looking for into the search field, and we’ll show you where to find it and how to get there right on the map.
Since we’re adding new content daily, and our travel guides are always getting bigger, one thing is particularly important to us: ease of viewing. That’s why we’ve now given you the option to filter your lists. For instance, you’re viewing the chapter on gastronomy but you really just want to see the cafés? It’s possible starting now. Restaurants are simply and instantly hidden from view!
Of course, the filter can also be transferred to the map, which is particularly useful, for example, if you want to know which cafés are nearby. Starting now, you can also filter according to distance – for example, open the filter view and reduce the results to just those cafés that are within a radius of one kilometer from your current position. You’ll be enjoying coffee and cake in less than 15 minutes!
The map is also now context-sensitive in all areas. This means: when you open a list in a travel guide, for example points of interest, and then switch to the map, this filter is now transferred to the map. Of course, this can be deactivated again with just one click.
And last but not least: Sorting! You can now sort all lists in a travel guide by popularity, distance or alphabet, which will save you huge amounts of time as you’re planning your trip.
We hope you like this update and that you’ll continue to share your vision for the app with us. You can write us an email anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org with your feedback – we’d really love to hear it! If you like the update, we would also really appreciate if you would rate the app in the App Store. That will help us increase the popularity of the app and continue working on even more great improvements. Thank you!
It’s the eternal struggle of humans against nature. The land is stripped, the ground excavated and buildings constructed, and yet: as soon as civilization retreats and places are left to the elements, a strange process takes place.
