Les Italiens auraient volontiers dédié le Colisée au football, mais jusqu'à présent, seules les ballerines du théâtre Bolchoï furent autorisées à y danser. Sa construction ne dura que huit ans. Le fils de l'Empereur, Vespasien, l'inaugura avec des centaines de spectacles et de jeux.

Steht natürlich auf dem Plan jeder geführten Rom-Tour. Ich empfehle aber, eine Tour direkt im Kolosseum zu buchen. Im Gegensatz zu den Stadtguides dürfen die hauseigenen nämlich auch die Arenabühne betreten. Beeindruckend!
Wer im Besitz eines Roma-Passes ist, sollte sich diesen unbedingt für das Kolosseum aufsparen. Dann kann man getrost an der riesigen Warteschlange vorbeilaufen.
I expected it to be a bit larger than it was, but the Coliseum is still so magical! It's in ruins, but it's amazing to think of all the people who battled it out there in ancient times.
You can practically hear the thundering hooves and bloodthirsty shouts when you visit this ancient marvel. The Colosseum is where Roman gladiators came to win and die. Ticket lines are massive, but the venue itself is so huge, that even when the place is packed, you can still browse unhindered. A museum exhibit boasts artistic finds from the period. Handicap-accessible.
Wirklich unglaublich schön! Muss man gesehen haben.

Much bigger than expected! It is brilliant to stand in its presence and witness the tremendous effort that must have gone into building it. This was the main attraction for me and I guess it is for most people and it did not disapoint.
