So what do you do when you arrive in London and raindrops keep falling on your head? Take an umbrella and visit a museum! Most of them are even for free, so you save your money to buy some souvenirs! In any case for every taste there is at least one museum: Science Museum, Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery, British Museum, Museum of London, London Transport Museum, Royal London Hospital Museum, London Canal Museum, London Museum of Jewish Life, London Fire Brigade Museum, Tate Modern, Cartoon Museum and many more. Maybe after couple of hours in a museum the sun will come back again and you can enjoy the rest of the day strolling around in London but if it keeps on raining, just enter the next museum, there are over 300 to choose from or spend the saved money by going shopping. The Beatles named an album after this street in North London and on the cover you can see the four group members walking across the zebra crossing located just outside the entrance of the music studio. Today it’s EMI’s Abbey Road Studios where many famous music performers have recorded and are still recording songs, among others the Beatles, obliviously recognizable by hundreds of fan’s writings on the wall. Stop #2: Madame Tussauds. For everyone who always wanted to take a picture next to David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Jamie Oliver, the Queen, Johnny Depp or Britney Spears, the famous wax museum is a must-see! You will probably never get the chance to be as close to your favorite star as in the museum, so don’t forget your camera! Furthermore, if you think you are not easy to be frighten, have a walk in the Chambers! Stop #3: Notting Hill. This area in West London is not only worthwhile for fans of the homonymous movie with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, but also for shopaholics, who can spend their whole day (and money) at the Portobello Road Market. Stop #4: Westend Theatres. If you are a fan of musicals, there is no way around these theatres. Billy Elliot, Disney’s the Lion King, Mary Poppins, Mamma mia!, Evita, Les Misérables, Cats and many more. Stop #5: Buckingham Palace. You never know if you will be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Queen or any other member of the royal family and in the meantime you can watch the changing of the Queen’s Guard which takes place in the forecourt. #6: Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen. Born as a charity restaurant where disadvantaged young people should find a work, Jamie Oliver opened three other Fifteen restaurants, one in Amsterdam, one in Cornwall and one in Melbourne. From the upscale communities of Hampstead and Highgate (where some of London's most-loved celebrities and politicians reside) and the wild beauty of Hampstead Heath, to the punk rockers and markets of Camden, to the stylish bars and restaurants of Islington, this tour covers it all.

You could explore all four neighborhoods in one day, but you'd inevitably miss a few can't-miss bars and restaurants, in addition to feeling exhausted at the end of the day.

Tips:
Though the Heath is huge, the northern part is nicest - concentrate your walking on the woodland around Kenwood House, which, in addition to being beautiful and less touristed, offers great views of London.

In Camden, walking west toward St. Regent's Park along the canal is magical - much quieter than the busy section around the Lock, it doesn't feel like London anymore." marked_deleted="0" modified="2009-09-17 02:51:58.282266" modifier_id="72" privacy="1" static_map_url="http://maps.google.com/staticmap?hl=en&maptype=roadmap&format=png&markers=51.568313,-0.147088,reda%7C51.565188,-0.153170,redb%7C51.563466,-0.168142,redc%7C51.572770,-0.165800,redd%7C51.569576,-0.174212,rede%7C51.557800,-0.179440,redf%7C51.555788,-0.176675,redg%7C51.543550,-0.152070,redh%7C51.541211,-0.144968,redi%7C51.539876,-0.142436,redj%7C51.533944,-0.138113,redk%7C51.538785,-0.143274,redl%7C51.536890,-0.103350,redm%7C51.536669,-0.101470,redn%7C51.534813,-0.107136,redo%7C51.538288,-0.102376,redp%7C51.537543,-0.103006,redq&key=ABCDABCD&size=123123123x123123123&path=rgb:0x0000ff,weight:5|51.568313,-0.147088|51.565188,-0.153170|51.563466,-0.168142|51.572770,-0.165800|51.569576,-0.174212|51.557800,-0.179440|51.555788,-0.176675|51.543550,-0.152070|51.541211,-0.144968|51.539876,-0.142436|51.533944,-0.138113|51.538785,-0.143274|51.536890,-0.103350|51.536669,-0.101470|51.534813,-0.107136|51.538288,-0.102376|51.537543,-0.103006" status="0" sum_locations="17" sum_votes="2" title="The Best of North London" triplocation_id="3822" />
