Just take a plane, bus, boat, cruiser, car or train to get to the fish shaped island and enjoy the “dolce vita”. But how? #1: Drink some cappuccino or Spritz (a wine-based cocktail with Aperol, Campari or Select) in one of Venice’s little but charming bars. Be aware that the closer you are to a touristic spot the higher the prices are. #2: Venice is a labyrinth of narrow streets and some say that you have to get lost. So don’t worry, just keep on walking and you will find again a yellow sign on the wall that says “To St. Marc” or “To Rialto” and sometimes you discover some lovely monuments, like for example the spiral staircase of the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo. #3: Enjoy the panoramic view from the St. Mark’s Campanile (or if you prefer a cheaper and less frequented Campanile, go to the San Giorgio Maggiore island and you will have a splendid view too). However, don’t be scared if there’s a “little” bit of high water in Venice, that’s normal, just put on some rubber boots and benefit from the reflections on the surface of the water, because they are perfect for taking cool pictures of the monuments and a picture of you standing in knee-high water is definitely more convincing than a “I survived sinking Venice”-T-Shirt.
