<triplocations name="Old Madrid" description=" Old Madrid has wonderful place to visit like the Plaza de Oriente that is lined with elegant cafes to stop and relax. There is also the Almudena Cathedral -- a controversial churs that is still considered unfinish by many. There is also the remains of the old Moorish defensive wall that was rediscovered during renovation and now serves as a backdroup to an outdoor theater. The Plaza de la Villa is also in Old Madrid and is home to Madrid's Town Hall building, which dates from the 17th century. It is surrounded by spectacular palaces that now house city administration office incuding Casa de Cisneros (16th centruy), Torre de los Lujanes (15th century), Palacio del Cordon and Casa de Ivan de Vargas. The best time to visit the square for its full effect is during the evening. The Plaza de la Paja, where straw used to be sold is a nice spot to have a bit to eat and enjoy the views, as is the Capilla del Obispo - a Gothic building with a Renaissance altarpiece that is beautiful. Other squares in the area include San Andres and Peurta de Moros (Morr's Gate), where you will see street performers nd musicians entertaining the crowds that visit on sunny afternoon and weekend nights.
