Die Gräberfelder liegen ausserhalb Paphos an der E 701, ca. 4 Km vom Hafen entfernt.
Die Gräber wurden im 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr und ca. 3. Jahrhundert n. Chr. genutzt.
In den Jahren 1915 – 1916 wurde angefangen, die Gräber freizulegen. Auftraggeben war der Kurator  Markides. In den Jahren 1937 – 1951 wurde die Arbeit fortgesetzt. Es wurden aber keine neuen Aufschlüsse für die Geschichte Paphos gewonnen. Da das Departement of Antiquities sich der Bedeutung der Denkmäler bewusst wurde, wurde nun systematisch weiter gegraben und bislang 8 Gräber freigelegt.
Der Eintritt beträgt  € 1,70 und man sollte sich den Führer von Maria Hadjisavva für € 2.—kaufen. Es ist ein Führer in Farbe mit einer Einführung in das antike Paphos.
Bis Mitte 2008 konnten alle kostenpflichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten und Museen an Sonntagen kostenlos besucht werden. Im Dezember mussten die Touristen bezahlen. 
Die Eintrittspreise für die diversen Ausgrabungen wie Kourion, Tempel des Apollon und die Königsgräber beliefen sich auf  € 1,70 und die Archaeoligical Site (House of Dionysos) am Hafen € 3,40.--
