Pizza, Hot Dogs, Baseball and Beer: The Perfect Chicago Day
When in Chicago, there are certain things you have to do. You have to have a Chicago-style pizza and a Chicago-style hot dog, and it would be a shame to miss out on baseball, a sport that Chicagoans are so rabid about. This itinerary kills three birds with one stone, and offers a few more things to do in between.
Start by wandering around Boystown a bit, before heading to Giordano's for a deep-dish pizza. Afterward, catch a baseball game at Wrigley Field and spend the next three hours swilling beer with your friends. If you don't manage to find a Chicago-style hot dog concession stand in the stadium, head to Byron's - but don't forget to tell the cashier to hold the lettuce (there's no lettuce in a traditional Chicago-style hot dog, but Byron's puts it in anyway). Otherwise, head to Murphy's Bleachers for some post-game revelry. If this isn't quite your scene, then either catch some live music at Metro or dance until your feet hurt at Smart Bar, both of which are two of Chicago's best venues.
