From the upscale communities of Hampstead and Highgate (where some of London's most-loved celebrities and politicians reside) and the wild beauty of Hampstead Heath, to the punk rockers and markets of Camden, to the stylish bars and restaurants of Islington, this tour covers it all.

You could explore all four neighborhoods in one day, but you'd inevitably miss a few can't-miss bars and restaurants, in addition to feeling exhausted at the end of the day.

Tips:
Though the Heath is huge, the northern part is nicest - concentrate your walking on the woodland around Kenwood House, which, in addition to being beautiful and less touristed, offers great views of London.

In Camden, walking west toward St. Regent's Park along the canal is magical - much quieter than the busy section around the Lock, it doesn't feel like London anymore." marked_deleted="0" modified="2009-09-17 02:51:58.282266" modifier_id="72" privacy="1" static_map_url="http://maps.google.com/staticmap?hl=en&maptype=roadmap&format=png&markers=51.568313,-0.147088,reda%7C51.565188,-0.153170,redb%7C51.563466,-0.168142,redc%7C51.572770,-0.165800,redd%7C51.569576,-0.174212,rede%7C51.557800,-0.179440,redf%7C51.555788,-0.176675,redg%7C51.543550,-0.152070,redh%7C51.541211,-0.144968,redi%7C51.539876,-0.142436,redj%7C51.533944,-0.138113,redk%7C51.538785,-0.143274,redl%7C51.536890,-0.103350,redm%7C51.536669,-0.101470,redn%7C51.534813,-0.107136,redo%7C51.538288,-0.102376,redp%7C51.537543,-0.103006,redq&key=ABCDABCD&size=123123123x123123123&path=rgb:0x0000ff,weight:5|51.568313,-0.147088|51.565188,-0.153170|51.563466,-0.168142|51.572770,-0.165800|51.569576,-0.174212|51.557800,-0.179440|51.555788,-0.176675|51.543550,-0.152070|51.541211,-0.144968|51.539876,-0.142436|51.533944,-0.138113|51.538785,-0.143274|51.536890,-0.103350|51.536669,-0.101470|51.534813,-0.107136|51.538288,-0.102376|51.537543,-0.103006" status="0" sum_locations="17" sum_votes="2" title="The Best of North London" triplocation_id="3822" />
