For Budget-Minded Travelers

A budget holiday in Frankfurt is ideal for those who want to visit a cosmopolitan, yet intrinsically German city, and the Museums are second only to Berlin. Ask anyone where you should start out in Frankfurt and they will guide you to Roemer. The medieval architecture of Roemerberg was badly destroyed in the war, but has been painstakingly restored since. The gothic houses – Alt-Limpurg, Roemer and Loewenstein - are remarkable to say the least and the area merits an afternoon on your itinerary.

The imperial church, known as Frankfurter Dom, is an impressive moniker of the age, and the sight of the election and coronation of German Kings and Emperors. From the top of the cathedral, you can get access to survey the arresting town of Frankfurt. The Main Tower, a modern construction, also offers a great view of the city skyline, you could enjoy it all lit up while having a drink at the bar there.

For a glimpse into the cultural aspects of the city on your Frankfurt budget holiday, visit the Ballett Frankfurt. The Opera conducter Sylvain Cambreling and the director of the ballet, William Forsythe are both tall personalities, celebrated for their creative artistry. Among the many highly acclaimed museums, we recommend that you go to the Museum fuer Modern Kunst (Museum of Modern Art) and the Goethe Museum.

Your budget trip to Frankfurt is not complete without a taste of the Ebbeloi or Apple Wine. We recommend the Zur Germania for quintessentially German food and drink. Restaurant Walden is great for international cuisine, or else go to Leib und Seele for a wholesome meal. The Jazzhaus has rapidly become an iconic landmark in Frankfurt, where people flock as much for the atmosphere as for the music.

On your Frankfurt budget holiday, we suggest you stay at Hotel Am Berg or Kaiserhof. The Five Elements Hostel also comes highly recommended.
