The Silk Road by Motorcycle
The Silk Road was the most enduring trade route in human history, being used for about 1,500 years. Its name is taken from the prized Chinese textile that flowed from Asia to the Middle East and Europe. "Silk Routes" were not only conduits for silk, but for many other products and were also very important paths for cultural and technological transmission by linking traders, merchants, pilgrims, monks, missionaries, soldiers, nomads and urban dwellers from China to the Mediterranean Sea for thousands of years.
This route has been chosen because of its historic importance as well as its legendary and extraordinary roads, crossing some of the world’s most inhospitable terrain. Hopefully I’ll end up in Beijing in one piece with a camera full of photos, head full of memories and shed load of money for Beating Bowel Cancer!
