tripwolf sets milestone with user-friendly and easy-to-read travel guides
Vienna, November 28, 2013.Having exceeded 5 million downloads recently, tripwolf, one of the most important providers of mobile travel guides for iPhone and Android, presents the brand new iPad version. On November 30th and after a design and conception phase of about 4 months, tripwolf laid claim to a leading role in the travel guide section: excellent readability of all content and a completely new structure optimized for the iPad app. Furthermore, version 3.0 shows a focus on a new interface that facilitates individual travel planning. The extensive range of tripwolf travel guides consists of more than 500 guides for cities, regions and whole countries (prices range between 0,99$ and 7,99$, depending on content). tripwolfs travel guides are based on the combination of classical print travel guide content and travel advice of thousands of travelers around the world.
„With the new iPad app, our developers created a state of the art-product in the travel section. The tripwolf iPhone app had to be completely rebuilt in order to fully take advantage of the possibilities of the iPad,” says tripwolf’s CEO Wilfried Schaffner. „Many of our users travel with their iPads nowadays. This optimization allows us to adapt to the different needs of our users,” he furthermore states.
“Due to its large screen and low weight, the iPad represents a class of devices used both at home and on the road. We adapted to the technical capabilities of the iPad and polished the design. Now texts are easier to read, larger photos give a better indication of the places shown, and the easy handling invites to discover,” says Ralf Stoltze, tripwolf’s product manager.
To give an idea of the new version, the coupon code “tripad3” offers one free guide to download and try until December 4th.
tripwolf – the wolf in a new fur
The concept and implementation of the tripwolf iPad app took about 4 months altogether. Besides the iPad app, the portfolio of the Austrian start-up also contains the tripwolf travel app for iPhone and Android, which only recently registered a total of 5 million downloads. While these attract the majority of users due to the handiness of the devices, the iPad version allows a better overview and efficient organization of custom trips, for example, the drag-and-drop feature in the trip planner.
