No matter how you strap-in, there’s no denying the snow sport season is nigh. Though most have yet to see a single flake, ski fever has already set in! Whether it’s snow parks and half-pipes you are looking for, rolling white peaks against blue skies, or an untouched après ski atmosphere, tripwolf will point you in the right direction.
The Mondail du Ski and Snowboard launches the season in Europe. Beginning on October 25th and 26th with the Mondail du (free) Ski, Les-Deux-Alpes, a resort in France’s Southern Alps, will be packed with spectators. The Mondial du Snowboard runs through the Halloween weekend, October 31st through November 2nd. The best skiers and riders from around the world will be there to compete in events like “Best Trick,” “Ollie-Limbo,” and “Freestyle.” It’s a chance to ride alongside the pros!
If laid back après ski is more your style, Ischgl-Samnaun in the Tyrolean Alps of Austria will open at the end of November. Guaranteed snow, two mountains and days of sun is what Ischgl offers. Gabriella Cilmi will perform a concert to officially kick-off the season on November 29th.
For an intimate mountain experience, Jay Peak in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, USA is only a day’s drive from New York City and a short drive from Montreal, Canada. This is truly East Coast skiing at it’s best – experience it for yourself!
Heading even farther west, British Columbia’s Whistler-Blackcomb is another extreme sport haven (and host to the Winter Olympics 2012!). Heli-skiing is popular, but at the same time, the small ski-towns draw families on vacation.
Whatever your speed, tripwolf’s here to remind you to GET PACKING!
British Columbia
Whistler
Whether it's heliskiing or a family vacation you're after, Whistler will deliver.
Tyrolean Dreams
Ischgl-Samnaun
Austrian skiing at its most beautiful. Ischgl is two resorts in one - ski over the ridge and down into Samnaun.
Powder in the East
Jay Peak
Jay Peak claims the most snowfall (and earliest powder!) in Vermont, as well as all of the Northeastern USA.
Jay has over 50 miles of marked trails and 365 acres of ski-able terrain, with an annual snowfall of 350". Not bad for the East!
