SO - I'm sure we all have a monkey story. They're too clever and too hungry.When I was traveling through Jaipur, I went to walk through the Amber Fort. It's a beautiful sandstone fort on a ridge over looking the city. The gateway was a huge arch.
Earlier that day, our 17 year old auto-rickshaw driver and self-appointed weekend tour guide had bought us three girls a necklace of roses. How sweet... we thought.As we entered the archway into the fort, we noticed some large black-tailed monkeys hanging by the gate, watching tourists. As we held our cameras close, we thought nothing of the roses. One of the monkeys lunged at my traveling companion and grabbed the necklace. The monkey pulled and RObynne rocked back and forth, coming within inches of the monkeys face and paws, screaming! The necklace finally broke, and Robynne was in tears, totally unhurt, but had just come too close to kissing monkey.The rest of us threw our necklaces as fast as we can to the others.Thanks for the flowers...
