Srebrenica (Cyrillic: Сребреница;) is a town and municipality in the east of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Republika Srpska entity. Srebrenica is a small mountain town, its main industry being salt mining and a nearby spa. During the Bosnian War, it was the site of the Srebrenica massacre. On March 24, 2007, Srebrenica's municipal assembly adopted a resolution demanding independence from the Republic Srpska; the Serb members of the assembly did not vote on the resolution.
