Ma’in Hot Springs

Anyone who visits the Dead Sea should by no means miss the Ma’in Hot Springs. The spectacular desert oasis is located 264 meters below sea level and consists of over a hundred hot and cold springs, which are fed from the highlands. In rushing waterfalls and cascades over small rocks, the healthy (because it is mineral-rich) thermal water pours into numerous bays. Heated underground volcanic activity warms it to over 60 degrees Celsius. The sparkling swimming attracts many local visitors and tourists mainly on the weekends. The Ma’in Hot Springs are located about 20 km from the major resort hotels and 27 km from Madaba. The access road is well posted and leads through a fascinating desert landscape.
