Small shops, historic pubs and old houses are what make the Jordaan district so charming.
Secluded little streets, tubs of flowers in front of the houses, cosy little pubs on corners and small shops: Jordaan is the "most civilised" area of Amsterdam. At the odd wood-panelled cafe you can still hear the old "Jordaan schmaltzy songs" playing.

This is the quaintest part of Amseterdam I've seen, and it's fun to look at the old hosues. Interestingly, each house was built in a different style to make it more recognizable in the days before addresses had been formalized.
Für mich die schönste Ecke Amsterdam. Ruhig und viele Kneipen und kleine Läden.

pour la deuxieme fois nous avons etablis le camp a jordan et cette fois ci le 31 decembre 2011 !!!! un quartier d ordinaire reputer pour sont calme et sont charme s est transformer en champ de bataille (toujours dans la bonhumeur bien connus de nos cheres amterdamers) jusqu a 4h du matin: feux d artifices, petards, danse, music, alcool et .... a flots !!! un quartier qui sait aussi faire la fete !!! love amsterdam
