Heading southwest, the Stirling Highway is an arterial route between the river and coast from the city to Fremantle, and links the leafy, establishment suburbs of Nedlands, Claremont and Cottesloe.
Nedlands abuts the western border of the University of Western Australia (UWA), the state’s oldest university with a beautiful garden campus and an excellent art gallery. Claremont has some great shopping and is the haunt of ‘ladies who lunch’ and their privately educated kids.
