Mosman has a very pleasant village feel and its well-heeled residents are rightly proud. Situated so close to the city centre, it has developed into one of the most exclusive and expensive areas of real estate in the city. However, don’t let this put you off. Mosman, in unison with its equally comfy, neighbouring beachside suburb of Balmoral, are both great escapes by ferry from the city centre and offer some fine eateries, designer clothes shops, walks and beaches, plus one of Sydney’s must-see attractions, Taronga Zoo.
To get here: by ferry from Circular Quay (Wharf 4) to Mosman Bay where buses run uphill to the commercial centre.
