Cairns

Wedged between rolling hills to the west, the ocean to the east and thick mangroves swamps to the north and south, Cairns is the second most important tourist destination in Australia, only after Sydney. With the phenomenal Great Barrier Reef on its doorstep, Cairns was always destined to become a major tourist hotspot, but the attractions don’t end there. With the ancient rainforest of Daintree National Park just to the north, this is one of the very few places on earth where two such environmentally rich and diverse World Heritage listed national parks meet.

Cairns has natural attractions like the Barrier Reef and Wet tropics Rainforest. However, there are a number of other experiences such as gourmet food producers and tropical fruit wineries. See www.foodtrailtours.com.au

Can unfortunately not be more paws, as the city of her little town hergibt and for my taste is too touristy. The area around Cairns around is great (rain forest, Great Barrier Reef). Can be easily explored through an infinite number of tourism products (Note: some hopelessly overcrowded)
