Whitsunday Islands

With over 70 sublime, sun-soaked islands, the Whitsundays are not only the largest offshore island chain on the east coast of Australia but the biggest tourist draw between Brisbane and Cairns. It is hardly surprising. Many of the islands are home to idyllic resorts, from the luxurious Hayman and Hamilton to the quieter, more affordable, South Molle, as well as a plethora of beautiful, pristine beaches. Here, for once, the term paradise is not merely tourist board hyperbole.

I spent 5 months in Australia and this was by far my favorite place. There are so many beautiful islands and beaches, including Whitehaven Beach. The islands are located near the Great Barrier Reef and there are so many tours that go island hopping and reef diving.
