The Temple of the Emerald Buddha actually features a jadeite Buddha
Arguably the most sacred Buddhist shrine in the nation, Wat Phra Kaeo's Buddha is probably the most storied Buddha figure in Thai history. During the course of nearly seven centuries, it has gone from Chiang Rai to Lampang to Chiang Mai to Laos to, finally, Bangkok, eventually becoming such a strong symbol of the country that many fear the demise of the Chakri dynasty if the Buddha is once again removed (though Cambodians and Laotians still believe the Buddha figure's home should be in their respective countries).
Considering it's the source of centuries' worth of fighting, the actual Emerald Buddha is surprisingly small, barely over 2 feet tall. Its gowns are changing three times a year according to the shift in seasons, an important ritual conducted by the King himself.
