Oualidia

Almost midway between El Jadida and Safi, Oualidia has abundant natural beauty and is a restful sort of place, except in July and August when Moroccan tourists descend on it in their hordes. New holiday bungalows are beginning to cascade down the hillside but for most of the year it remains a chilled haven. Named for the Saâdian Sultan el Oulalid, who built a kasbah there in the 1630s, the town is best known today for its oysters and its restaurants. There are caves, a lagoon, safe swimming – and ample amusement for bird watchers, as the inlets and beaches are much appreciated by migrating birds in autumn and spring. It’s also popular with surfers, and, increasingly, kite-surfers, who ride the calmer waters in the lagoon.

Oualidia is a world apart from in the economic capital. A lagoon in which to surf, sail ... and a rather warm welcome to this small city emerging from a corner after a superb road although "dangerous" ... Feel free to taste the oyster Ostrea (forget the cons by gratin dish ... little too rich). Dare to eat sea urchins offered to the beach! Paella the restaurant / hotel is a delight the Initial hearty! To sleep, I strongly discourages the Beach View Hotel! It has 4 star than those you see in the sky, hoping that the sound of horrible "cabaret" very poorly soundproofed stops before 4am (or so the package is built cabaret room with a new concept ...) . The rooms are very average for the price, even including the entry into the "nightclub" (in addition we have no choice but to go there, unable to sleep). 600 to 800 dh for a shower on the floor with a simple curtain .... a cheap ticket.
