Carhuaz travel guide

Carhuaz, a friendly, quiet mountain town with a pleasant plaza with tall palm trees and lovely rose bushes is 7 km further on from Marcará. There is very good trekking in the neighbourhood (outlined below). Theres a market on Wednesday and another larger market on Sunday, when campesinos bring their produce to town. Good peaches are grown locally, among other crops. The locals are renowned for their lively celebrations, hence the towns nickname, Carhuaz alegría.
