There are no decent beaches in Umag, so many visitors make do with the man-made concrete bathing areas in front of the larger hotels. You’re better off renting a bike and peddling 5 km up the coast to Savudrija, where you’ll find a rocky stretch of coast interspersed with pebble beaches and backed by pinewoods.
