Huesca is in a slightly strange situation – in spite of being the capital of Aragón’s Pyrenean province, it has been eclipsed by Jaca as ‘gateway to the mountains’. Its old town, albeit interesting, feels a little bit neglected, and although the town has plenty of character, it’s hard to pin down. That said, it’s far from unpleasant, and has some worthwhile restaurants in the eating zone around Plaza Navarra.
