Air
Flights arrive into and depart from Asturias international airport . Buses run hourly (on the hour) from Oviedo’s bus station to the airport, taking 45 mins and costing €6.15. A taxi costs about €50.

Bus
Local city buses are blue and run on 13 clearly marked routes around the city . The basic fare is €0.90. Bus No 3 runs hourly from C Uría up to Santa María de Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo. The intercity bus terminal is near the train station (T902 499 949, www.estacionde uto busesdeoviedo.com). There are many buses to Gijón, 30 mins, and many companies run services across Asturias. The major intercity operator is ALSA (http://www.alsa.es), T902 422 242, who connect Oviedo with A Coruña (3 daily, 4-6 hrs, €21.31), Santiago (3 daily, 5-7 hrs, €25.95), León (9 daily, 1½ hrs, €8.30), Valladolid (5 daily, 4 hrs, €17.63), Madrid (14 daily, 5½ hrs, €30.86), Santander (10 daily, 2½-3½ hrs, €13.01), and Bilbao (9 daily, 5 hrs, €19.78). Some of these services are premium class, being slightly quicker and more expensive.

Train
There is a bewildering number of short- distance cercanía train routes around the central valleys of Asturias. These are run by both FEVE and RENFE out of the train station. Details of individual lines can be found in the relevant destination section. For long-distance services, RENFE links Oviedo with Madrid (4 daily, €47.20, 4¾ hrs) via León (6 daily, 1¾ hrs, €18.20) and Valladolid and with Barcelona (2 per day, 11 hrs, €49.30), and points in between. FEVE’s coastal network links Oviedo (slowly) with Santander (2 through trains per day, 4 hrs, €13.75), Bilbao (1 per day, 6½ hrs, €21.40), and westwards as far as Ferrol in Galicia (2 per day, 6½ hrs, €20.10).
