Morning in Sydney presents the traveler with the best possible conundrum; how to pass the day in a city with so many alluring attractions? A tour through the world-class aquarium, with its unbelievable shark exhibit, is one option. Or take the ferry past the soaring blades of the world famous Opera House to catch a glimpse of the red pandas at the Taronga Zoo. For an unforgettable if dizzying experience, strap on rock-climbing gear and ascend the gleaming span of the Harbour Bridge. A short bus trip carries you to Sydney’s famous beaches, where you can easily pass a day strolling from one cove-like shore to the next. Cheap fish fries line the hillside above Bondi Beach, providing excellent opportunities for a surfside picnic. The lush Blue Mountains make for an easy day trip from Sydney and offer both hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. Get an early start, and you can be back in time to hit the town for some Aussie nightlife. Numerous entertainment districts offer dining, booming bar scenes, and live music. But the best thing about Sydney is that its wealth of public spaces, interesting markets, and character-rich neighborhoods allow you to leave your room without any plan at all, sure to stay sportively occupied until long after dark.

Trip to Australia visiting Sydney Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach...
Sydney or Melbourne - I am always asked why I chose to move to Melbourne of all places when Sydney is so close. A tricky question, and one easily answered: I prefer Melbourne to live in for various reasons. However, Sydney rocks. Especially the CBD/Darling Harbour/North Shore/Manly/Bondi/Coogee parts. Standing at Circular Quay overlooking the harbour, the opera house and the bridge is incredible. Doing the Bridge Climb at midnight or in the early dusk is priceless. Hanging out at Coogee Beach (my preference over Bondi, go take a look!) or walking from Coogee to Bondi - and you will experience the lifestyle that so many people associate with Australia. Or go to Manly to surf or swim in the Pacific. Positively awesome.
