Floatplanes
Harbour Air Seaplanes, T250-385 9131, http://www.harbour-air.com, and West Coast Air, T604-606 6888, http://www.westcoastair.com. Both have regular daily flights between Canada Place in Vancouver and Victoria’s Inner Harbour, $130 one-way.
Bus
Local
BC Transit, T250-382 6161, www.bc transit.com, operates a comprehensive and efficient bus service throughout the city. Single-fare tickets cost $2.25 (child $1.40) or $3 (child $2.25) for 2 zones. If taking more than 1 bus in the same direction, ask for a transfer at no extra charge. It lasts for 90 mins. A sheet of 10 tickets costs $20.25 (child $12.60). A day pass is $7 (child $5). The low-floor buses are wheelchair access- ible, but only from designated stops.
Long distance
All buses leave from 700 Douglas St, behind the Empress Hotel. Greyhound, T250-385 4411, www.grey hound.ca, runs 6 daily buses north to Nanaimo (2 hrs, $18), from where 1 service runs to Tofino (4 hrs) and 3 run to Campbell River (2½-3 hrs, $25). Pacific Coach Lines, T250-385 4411, operates a service to and from Vancouver, leaving Victoria bus station almost hourly in summer from 0600-2000, $38.50 one-way.
Ferry
BC Ferries, T250-386 3431, www.bcferries. com, run to Tsawwassen (for Vancouver) and the southern Gulf Islands. Ferries between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen leave every 2 hrs, 0700-2100 or hourly at peak times, $12, child $5.50, vehicle $39. Several daily ferries run from Brentwood Bay on the Saanich Peninsula to Mill Bay across the inlet, $5, vehicle $11.60.
To the US
Victoria Clipper, T250-382 8100, http://www.suffren.victoriaclipper.com, runs from the Inner Harbour to Seattle, US$81. Washington State Ferries, T250- 464 6400, http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries, Sidney to Anacortes, US$18, vehicle $55.
Taxi

Train
The Malahat service leaves from the Johnson St Bridge daily at 0800 (Sun 1000), and more frequently in summer, running as far north as Courtenay (4½ hrs, $30 if booked 5 days in advance) with several stops on the way including Chemainus and Nanaimo. You can make as as many stops as you like.
