Chinese Cultural Centre

Ninety-minute tours of Chinatown are offered by the Chinese Cultural Centre and inevitably include the disappointing Sam Kee Building, aka ‘Slender on Pender’. The story goes that when the city appropriated most of Chang Toy’s 30-ft lot for street widening, his neighbour expected to get the remaining 6 ft at a bargain price, but to frustrate him Toy built the world’s skinniest building.
