Every summer, the otherwise bland town of Penticton transforms into a hectic, throbbing beach-fest, attracting both families and a younger crowd, who come to party and show off their tans. Sandwiched between two lakes, the town has plenty of sand and water to go round and temperatures regularly exceed 35°C, sometimes reaching up to 45°C. Most of the action happens on Okanagan Beach around the Lakeshore Resort, where gear can be rented for a multitude of watersports. The beaches around Skaha Lake to the south are more family orientated and there’s a nude beach at 3 Mile towards Naramata.
