Geraldton can make the welcome claim that many of its main tourist attractions are free, or involve a token donation. Some, particularly the gallery and museum, are of a high standard. The waterfront area around the museum is being developed into a townhouse and marina complex and is likely to become an attractive part of the city.

Local
There are local bus services to and from Anzac Terrace, T9923 1100. The circular 800 service is free, as are the 201 and 501 services between the terrace and Northgate Shopping Centre (adjacent to the VIC). Services run Mon-Sat, 2-5 times a day, the 800 service more frequently in the mornings.
Long distance
There is at least 1 daily TransWA service to Perth from the railway station, many leaving at 0830. The Northampton and Kalbarri service leaves Mon, Wed and Fri at 1440. McCaffertys/ Greyhound northbound services leave the VIC daily at 1640 except Sun and Tue (Port Hedland) and Mon, Thu and Sat at 0205 (coastal towns to Exmouth). Perth buses depart Wed, Fri-Mon at 1055.

Parking is metered and restricted in town centre. Free and unrestricted at the railway station. Car servicing at Axis, 284 Marine Terr. T9921 2411. Fill up with cheap fuel at the 440 Roadhouse, 10 km north of town. Cheapest at Gull, opposite VIC; 24-hr services at BP Tarcoola, Brand Highway, and Gull 440 Roadhouse, North West Coastal Highway.
