Air
The private Airport Shuttle runs between Perth airport and Fremantle approximately hourly from 0830-1715 and 2000-2330. Bookings essential, T9335 1614, http://www.fremantleairportshuttle.com.au. Fares are $30 single, $35 for two, add $5 for each additional passenger for groups up to 5, and $10 for every following passenger for groups of more than 5, family tickets $40. A cheaper ($3.40, concessions $1.40) but much longer option from the domestic terminal is to take the no 37 bus to the City Busport and change. A taxi will be around $40-50. The main service between the City Busport and Fremantle is the 106 that runs every 15 mins, daily from at least 0600-2045, then every 30 mins until 2315. The journey takes about 45 mins, single tickets $3.40, concessions $1.40.

Bus
Local
As well as the many scheduled services , the free Fremantle CAT circles around the town in a figure of 8 that stretches from the railway station to the History Museum, and from Victoria Quay to south of the hospital. Buses leave every 10 mins or so, Mon-Fri 0730-1830 and Sat-Sun 1000-1830. The main bus terminal is in front of the railway station.

Fremantle presents the cheapest options to Rottnest. The latter also has several ferry/hotel packages worth looking at. Boat Torque Cruises, T9430 5844, http://www.boattorque.com.au, leaves from Rous Head Harbour. Car park available for $9 per day.

Train
The Fremantle Line runs between Perth and Fremantle via Subiaco, Claremont and Cottesloe. Services are every 10-15 mins from 0530-1930 and every 30-60 mins from 1900-0230. Saturday services are at similar times running from 0600-0230 and Sunday from 0730-2330. The journey takes about 30 mins in total.
