Tacuarembó, is a town in north-central Uruguay, in the Tacuarembó Department. The population is 51,224 (2004 census).
It is alleged that Tango legend Carlos Gardel (as well as the famous jockey Leguisamo) was born near this town, in Valle Edén, and not in Toulouse, France. (...)
