Loen Travel Guide

Loen is a village in Stryn municipality, Norway. It is located in inner Nordfjord. Loen's diamond is the picturesque and charming farming area Sæten
Loen is the home to some of the oldest farms in Norway, Sæten (Setin), Tjugen (Tyfin) and Loen, that probably were established long before the time of christianity. Much of the upper Loen valley was devastated from two rockfall avalanches (one in 1905 and one in 1936) that created huge waves that swept with them most of the houses and vegetation. In Loen you can visit the bødal glacier, but you'll have to hurry as it is quickly disappearing. You can also visit Loen Lake which is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world with several camping spots and mountain hiking opportunities. (...) more....
