From Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho the main route is Highway 1. The majority of travellers join an inclusive tour or catch an Open Tour Bus, which allows greater flexibility.
My Tho
As in all Mekong Delta towns local travel to visit the orchards, islands and remoter places is often by boat. On land there are xe ôms and the xe lôi, the local equivalent of the cyclo; a trailer towed by a bicycle or a motorbike.
There are ferries to Chau Doc and Vinh Long. Enquire locally about departure times and prices as they vary.Bank
