(From the main road, follow signs to LKIM Komplex from the north end of the bridge) .
This is a colourful Malay fishing kampong at the mouth of the Marang River, although it has been buffeted by the vagaries of the tourist industry over the last couple of decades. Despite development, it is still a lovely village, with its shallow lagoon full of fishing boats. The best beach is opposite Pulau Kapas at Kampong Ru Muda. It was the centre of a mini-gold-rush in 1988 when gold was found 6 km up the road at Rusila. On the road north of Marang there are a number of batik workshops, all of which welcome visitors.
