Boat

The future of the express boat to and from Phnom Penh is uncertain but most believe the service won’t resume.

Bus

Getting to Kratie is easy now the roads have improved. Hour Lean Bus Company, T012-535387, on Kratie’s riverfront runs daily buses to Phnom Penh, 0715, 7 hrs, US$4.50. Phnom Penh Public Transport Co also runs the trip to Phnom Penh for the same price – the bus leaves at 0715 from the Central Market. The same bus company also charters buses to Stung Treng at around 1200. It is sometimes possible to hop on one of the buses coming from Phnom Penh to go to Stung Treng but seats can’t be relied upon unless booked a few days in advance.

Motodop

Local transport by motodop US$1 per hr or US$6-7 per day.

Shared taxi

Shared taxis to Stung Treng, 3 hrs, US$4 per person. Shared taxis and pickup to Snuol 0700, 2 hrs, US$2-3. Snuol is a good staging post for destinations such as Sen Monorom (further 3 hrs away). Via Snuol, 5-6 hrs, US$4-5.

Banks

There is an Acleda Bank half way down St 11. It does not offer advances on Visa or MasterCard but is a subsidiary for Western Union.

Internet

You Hong Guesthouse offer a good, cheap connection. Three Star Internet US$4 per hr. There is another internet café near Phnom Penh Transport bus office but at the time of writing it was US$4 per hr.
