Naivasha

Naivasha is a small trading centre just off the main road from Nairobi to Nakuru. It was traditionally used as grazing land by Masai, until they were displaced by European settlers at the turn of the 20th century. The most likely reason for stopping in Naivasha town is en route to either Lake Naivasha or Hell’s Gate. There are few accommodation options in town and it is far nicer to stay near the lake, where there are resorts, campsites and hotels catering to all budgets. The best reason to stop is for the excellent Belle Inn, for fruit juices and pastries.
