Beni Suef to Assiut travel guide

About 130 km south of Cairo, with a population of 86,000, Beni Suef is the northernmost provincial capital in Middle Egypt. There’s no reason to visit this uneventful and somewhat rickety town, especially since the few nearby sights can be seen on day trips from Cairo or the Fayoum. But if you get stuck for a night en route elsewhere, you can explore Beni Suef on foot in less than an hour.
