Ins and outs
There is a good ferry service and air shuttle from Trinidad, while many international flights come direct to Tobago. Many hotels are within walking distance of the airport and close to the beach. Scarborough is only 15-25 minutes’ drive from Crown Point Airport and small enough to walk around, but for trips to the suburbs or further afield take a route taxi or hire a car. If you are driving around Tobago, maps are available from the tourist offices at the airport and at the port . Some of the minor roads are suitable only for 4WD. If you are hiking, get the three 1:25,000 sheets, not currently available in Tobago but obtainable from the Lands and Survey Division, Richmond St, Port of Spain, or from a good map shop. It is possible to walk anywhere. There is a book of trails.
