The Mongui Maduro Library is at the Landhuis Rooi Katootje (T7375119, info@madurolibrary.org, open by appointment) the site, in 1954, of the Round Table Conferences which led to the Statuut between the Dutch Kingdom and its Caribbean territories. The library, in the beautifully restored landhuis (country estate house), contains all manner of things Caribbean and the conference table still stands in the dining room. To get there, take the Rond minibus from Punda and ask to be let off next to the chicken factory.
