About 10 blocks east of Devon House is the Bob Marley Museum (56 Hope Rd, T9279152, Mon-Sat, 0930-1600, US$8 adults, US$6 13-18 years, US$3 children 4-12 years, including obligatory 1-hr guided tour and 20-min audio visual presentation) . The house where Marley used to live traces his story back to the time of his childhood and family, with paintings, newspaper cuttings, posters and other memorabilia. He died tragically of brain cancer in 1981 at the age of 36, having survived a controversial assassination attempt (the bullet-holes in the walls have been left as a reminder). There is a gift shop selling Jamaican and African artefacts. Marijuana plants grow profusely throughout the grounds and ganja is smoked openly by staff.
