Vulano Villarrica: a fire spitting mountain close enough to touch
This park, which covers 61,000 ha, stretches from Pucón to the Argentine border near Puesco. There are three sectors: Villarrica Volcano sector, Quetrupillán Volcano sector and the Puesco sector, which includes the slopes of the Lanín Volcano on the Argentine border. Each sector has its own entrance and ranger station.
Between July and September (and occasionally October) it is possible to ski at the Pucón resort, which is situated on the eastern slopes of the volcano and reached by a badly maintained track . The slopes are run by Enjoy who own the casina and Gran Hotel. Randonée skiing is usually possible until December.
