Curicó

Curicó, which means ‘black water’ in the Mapuche language, lies between the rivers Lontué and Teno, 54 km south of San Fernando. Founded in 1743, it is the only town of any size in the Mataquito Valley and is the service centre for the region’s vineyards. The bustling town centre offers good views towards the mountains and a friendly atmosphere after dark.
