The city of Retalhuleu is in south-western Guatemala, located at It is the departmental seat of Retalhuleu department as well as the municipal seat of Retalhuleu municipality.

Bus
Services along the Pacific Hwy to Mexico leave from the main bus terminal, which is beyond the city limits at 5 Av ‘A’. To Coatepeque (0600-1800), Malacatán, Mazatenango and Champerico (0500-1800). Buses also leave from here to El Asintal, for Abaj Takalik, 30 mins, every 30 mins from 0600-1830, last bus back to Reu 1800. Or catch them before that from the corner of 5 Av ‘A’ and the Esso gas station as they turn to head for the village. Leaving from a smaller terminal at 7 Av/10 Calle, there are regular buses to Ciudad Tecún Umán, Talismán and Guatemala City via the Pacific route, and to Xela (1¾ hrs, every hr 0500-1800).Banks
