I am going to Guatemala this summer with my church group and are working on some houses through a program called "from houses to homes" so hang in there because we r on our way to help!

i find Guatemala's tourist capital Antigua to be a bit boring. Every thing closes after 1 a.m., and there is nothing much to do in the day time either. A trip to Pacaya Volcano near by is the only "hot" thing about this pretty looking town. If you want to learn Spanish, you can do it in a nice vibe in Lago de Atitlan.

Antigua's atmosphere is amazing - you just wanna hang out here forever! It has a Western / Colonial feel to it - heaps of travellers to meet, language schools and nice bars & restaurants to enjoy.
