Air

Abraham González (CJS) airport is 18 km south of the city, T656-619 0734; taxi US$15-20. Flights to Mexico City, Chihuahua, Ciudad Obregón, Culiacán, Durango, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Ixtapa, León, Los Cabos, Mazatlán, Monterrey, Torreón, Tijuana and Zacatecas.

Bus

The Central Camionera, Teófilo Borunda, T656-610 7083, is 5 km southeast of the centre. To get to the bus station, use route 1A or 1B from Guerrero. A shuttle bus runs to El Paso Greyhound Terminal, US$11, hourly.

The bus station has good services including long-distance telephones, money- changing facilities and left-luggage. Ticket counters are on the north side of the terminal.

The main bus lines are Estrella Blanca and its subsidiaries, Grupo Senda, Greyhound, Autobuses Americanos, ETN and Omnibus. To Chihuahua, every ½ hr, 4½ hrs, US$22. To Durango, every 2 hrs, US$50. To Guadalajara, 8 daily, US$80. To León, 8 daily, US$73. To Mexico City, every 1-2 hrs, 25 hrs, US$93. To Monterrey, 1130, 1330, 1630 and 2145, US$57. To San Luis Potosí, every 2 hrs, US$71. To Zacatecas, every 1-2 hrs, US$60.

Taxi

Some taxis are allowed to cross the border and take you to downtown El Paso; US$40; or to El Paso Airport, US$50.

Banks

Most cambios are on Av Juárez and Av de las Américas; there is also a cambio at the bus terminal. Rates vary little. Exchange houses are better and more convenient in El Paso .
