The bus terminal is located at Av Riveroll 1075, several blocks north of López Mateos. Estrella Blanca operates services to mainland destinations including: Guadalajara, 1000, 35 hrs, US$100; and Mexico City, 1000, 40 hrs, US$140. ABC heads south through the peninsula with 1st-class services departing at 1420, 1815 and 2015, subject to change, including: Guerrero Negro, 9 hrs, US$49; and Laz Paz, 20 hrs, US$112. There are cheaper and more frequent 2nd-class fares also, particularly for journeys under 5 hrs. Transportes ABC and TNS buses run to San Felipe, direct, over the mountains, at 0800 and 1800, 3½ hrs, US$17.
Hitchhiking
Hitching is a great way to get around Baja California and is used by many budget travellers. There seems to be a slightly different approach on the peninsula to the ‘mainland’. Hitching out of Tijuana would range between pointless and dangerous; Ensenada would be a good starting point if heading south.Immigration
