The Avenida de los Presidentes, or Avenida G, joins the Plaza de la Revolución in the south to the Malecón in the north, bisecting La Rampa on its way through to the sea. It is a magnificent, wide boulevard with grand houses and blocks of apartments. A very desirable place to live. Just north of the intersection with La Rampa is a statue of Salvador Allende, the murdered President of Chile. At the Malecón the avenue is blocked by a monument to Calixto García.
