This isolated northern town has two reasons for being on the tourist map: the Moffat family and their mission station; and a natural spring known as The Eye. Neither take up much time and the town itself is scruffy and unappealing, so half a day here should be more than enough on your way through. However, Kuruman is an important regional centre, so it’s a good place to stock up on fuel and supplies.
